Since the beginning of this millennium, we have been living in an era of exponential societal and technological changes that are succeeding each other at a rapid pace. At the same time, the traditional ‘boundaries’ between sectors, disciplines and generations are fading.
New technologies allow the younger generations, the ‘millenials’, to challenge the big multinational companies. Just think of the Airbnb or the Ubers of this world.
Because the young people also have different standards and values, they also succeed in attracting new customer groups. “Possession” is given a different interpretation and sustainability is their top priority. On the basis of this, this new generation will start with totally new products, services, processes and business models that shake up the existing competitive models.
As a company you have to jump into the boat if you want to stay relevant. You have to dare to leave the structure and culture that dates from an era in which change was slow and reasonably predictable.
That is why The Argonauts have established a “Millenial Board”, in which selected young people from all over the world participate and are involved in our projects.
