The fashion industry is undergoing deep changes and disruption. New players, new technologies, new distribution channels and foremost…new customer behaviour. Its impact is felt by everyone in the business.
On this journey, in collaboration with Flanders DC, Neopaul and Resatec, we will discover newcomers like Edited, Unmade, Holition, Browns and leading fashion entrepreneurs from the growing London start-up scene. We will talk to established retailers like Uniqlo and designers like Paul Smith to understand how they are preparing their business for the future.
On 8th of March, we invite you to an inspiring infosession at Graanmarkt 13, Antwerp.
On 17th of April 2018, we will start our journey with an introduction meeting, explaining and outlining the program and team assignment.
From Monday 23rd until Wednesday 25th of April 2018, we head for London! The program is still “under construction” but here’s what we have in mind:
Early May, we conclude with a reflection workshop to cluster all impressions, ideas and learning moments and translate them to in our daily practice. Exact time and place will be defined in consultation with the participants.
Our Lead Argonauts Veerle Windels and Ine Verhaert will inspire you on this journey with success stories, failures, pitfalls and methods to prepare your digital fashion future.
Veerle Windels has been an enthusiastic fashion journalist for more than twenty years. She always goes for the story behind the scenes. For the person behind the product. She launched her first book in 2001 (Young Belgian Fashion) and wrote a monography on fashion designer Tim van Steenbergen (Ludion, 2010). As a freelance journalist she mainly writes for the De Standaard and for international publications such as Financieel Dagblad (Nl) and StyleZeitgeist (USA). She also teaches ‘Fashion. NOW’ at the fashion department of the KASK in Ghent.
Ine Verhaert, former CEO of Veritas and co-founder of the new fashion brand ‘KAAI’, has a deep understanding of the mid-market consumer segment and omnichannel retail and is specialized in fashion, lifestyle & DIY. After a long career in sourcing, category management and branding for C&A, Marca, JBC and Veritas, she recently founded KAAI, a new bag brand for “citizens on the move”, launching in June 2018.
