Design is a state of mind in Finland and is seamlessly interwoven with everyday life. It is a way of life that includes timeless beauty, sustainability and a harmonious relationship with the natural world. Alvar Aalto, Finland’s most celebrated architect and designer, once said that “form must have content and that content must be linked to nature.”
Finland wants to be a carbon-neutral society by the year 2050. That is why the Finns also take the lead in the field of durable furniture and interior.
In the Paris agreements, 17 Sustainable Development Goals were defined, several of which are related to the sustainable design, production, recycling and consumption of products and services.
Sustainable design maximizes the use of sustainable, high-quality, low-impact, non-toxic, sustainably produced, recycled or upcycled materials and energy-efficient production processes. It also aims to minimize “throw away” consumption and culture.
Together with colleagues and experts, we take you to innovating companies during this learning process and get to know inspiring circular initiatives in furniture and interior.
We look for answers to questions such as:
How can you use new technologies to reduce the ecological footprint of your company?
How can you develop sustainable products and business models in furniture and interior?
How do you turn sustainability into a USP for your customers and your stakeholders?
How do you build a sustainable brand?
